Brief modeling career

I though everyone would get a kick out of this. Amy and I worked for a Phonathon when we were in college and this was one of the photos taken to recruit new callers. Funny.

Maggie and Sandy's show

Here are Maggie and Sandy's tricks. The image quality is grainy, because we filmed them with our digital camera. Don't turn up the sound too loud!

JR Graduates!

For all of you who didn't know, I defended my Masters thesis on November 14th and will officially graduate from Graduate School from the University of North Carolina-Wilmington this fall. Right now I'm still teaching lessons at Alma and working part-time at UPS until a position opens at the University of Arkansas or the University of Arkansas-Fort Smith. Hopefully an adjunct faculty or academic advisor job will present itself soon. Most colleges however do their hiring for that kind of stuff in the late Spring, so I'll have to be patient. There's also a chance that I could work as a history teacher at a NWArkansas school. Shiloh Christian, a private school run by Springdale First Baptist, has shown some interest in me, but nothing is concrete yet!

Christmas 2004, sans Jacob

A gathering of Hinksons in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Pigs

Amy's sister Andrea LOVES her Guinea Pigs!

Alma Drumline

Here is Amy warming up the Alma drumline, getting ready for a halftime performance at Homecoming. This year, the drumline has two tenors, three snares, and four basses. There is also a front ensemble with about six or seven students.

Christmas 2005

Maggie and Sandy were not very cooperative for this picture. Still, here we are at Christmas time in 2005--taken at Marsha's house in Owasso, Oklahoma. That's Sandy's actual eye color, too!

Amy and her dad

This picture is following Amy's Masters' recital at MU. David made the trip all the way from Dallas!

D.L. Moody and Company

My brother Sam and his family: Sam, Heather, Abby, Clark and Ethan. Sam is finishing up his Masters in Divinity from Southern Baptist Theological Cemetery (ha!) in Louisville, Kentucky.

Razorback Stadium

Here is a picture from our seats in Donald W. Reynolds Razorback Stadium. This is the Alabama game in September. The Hogs won in double overtime!

Amy's Graduation from MU

Amy receieved her Masters in Music from the University of Missouri. Here's a pick of her and her mom from graduation

Wrightsville Beach, NC

This is me playing with the girls in North Carolina. We lived in Wilmington for two years while I was in Graduate School, and this beach was ten minutes from our apartment. I'm wearing a sweatshirt, because it's October. Unfortunately, that was the only time dogs were allowed on the beach. The salty water usually made Maggie sick, however. Still, she usually didn't care, as you can see.

JR and Susan

This is my favorite picture of me and mom. There was no greater supporter of the UofA Razorback Band Tuba section! Judging from the floppiness of my hair, I believe this was taken in 1999.

Hinkson get together in Nashville

Sorry about the fuzziness of the picture--the fella who took it had too much caffeine. Dad and I went to see the Arkansas-Vanderbilt game in September, and we all went to eat at this catfish joint afterwards.

JR and Amy in Miami, Oklahoma

This is a picture of us at Amy's grandmother's house in Miami, Oklahoma. This was the day we told the family Amy was pregnant! We're not normally that tan by the way. The picture is flattering.

Jack's first picture

Here is Jack's first picture. It was taken back in August. Notice the prodigious lips. Will he play tuba?

Maggie and Sandy

These are our two dogs, Maggie and Sandy. Maggie is a Golden Retriever that we bought from a University of Arkansas alum who we contacted while fundraising for the renovation of Carnall Hall. Maggie was my present to Amy for our first wedding anniversary. Sandy is a mutt we rescued while we lived in Columbia, Missouri. She's a mixture of every breed of dog that has ever walked the earth.
