Christmas 2008

Jack and I first thing in the morning!!

Jack got a new tent from Grandma and he is still trying to figure it out! He thinks you can lay on the walls which doesn't help it stay up to well. He loves it though nonetheless!

Jack loves to hit things..everything, so we decided to get him some boxing gloves and he loves them!!

Jack's new batman cape from the Kentucky Hinksons! We had to snap this picture quick because Jack hasn't gotten used to it being around his neck.

Random pictures of everyone opening their presents!!

The brothers: Sam, JR, and Jake

The family: Sam, JR, Jake, and Steve

Random pics of Jack around the house and Fayetteville!

Jack loves going to Arkansas basketball games! He loves to clap for the team and dance to the music of the Hogwild band and just generally watch all the people around us! He is like his mother in that aspect!
On the way to the game!! He has the best mode of transportation around!!

Watching the pre-game events!

The view from our seats!

We took Jack to see the lights on the square in Downtown Fayetteville. He really enjoyed all of them and kept saying "hot" because we always tell him lights are hot so he won't touch them! He also enjoyed seeing the camels that were there for rides!

This is the normal look of Jack these days when anybody brings out a camera. Once you snap the picture he will smile...crazy kid!

This picture of Jack was taken by JR when they were just messing around but I think it is sooooo cute!!

Pumpkin patch!!

Today we went to a local pumpkin patch and went on a hayride and walked through the pumpkin patches! The place was close to being picked clean and there were hardly any pumpkins left but we had fun just walking around. Jack is also getting to the age where he is not going to smile for the camera unless he really wants to so enjoy what we captured!!

Jack sitting on the pumpkins...not too good at picking them yet!

JR and Jack!

This is at the picture spot at the patch...Jack wasn't interested in any pictures.

JR and Jack walking through the patch!

Jack and I on the hayride!!

Jack right when we got on the hayride...I don't know if he was being silly or really happy!

Overall, he enjoyed the afternoon!

First but probably not the last trip to the ER.

Friday night Jack was taking a bath and getting ready for bed. He hates to get out of the bathtub so I decided to let the water drain and once it was done he would know that it was time to get out. The water was at less than an inch and I stepped literally a foot away from the tub and the dude falls and hits his face on the side of the tub. At first he grabbed his mouth and I thought he might have busted some teeth out but then I saw the gash above his right eye. He realized it was there also and it started gushing blood. I grabbed a towel and pulled him out while applying pressure and screaming for JR to help. We threw a diaper on him and rushed him to the ER. We got to the hospital around 8:45pm and they didn't get us back to a room until 11:00pm. They put this numbing stuff on gauze and taped it to the cut every fifteen minutes and decided to sew him up at 11:35pm. Poor guy finally fell asleep though at 11:30pm and was rudely awoken by the start of his stitches. Personally it was terrible to watch because I don't think he was numbed enough. I didn't watch up close I sat against the wall and I held him right after to calm him down, which was not easy. He was a trooper through the whole thing and of course acts as if nothing has happened. He will get his stitches removed on Thursday and now will have a scar to match his other eye.

Here he is sitting on the counter the next day eating some raw spaghetti (don't ask??) This was just after eating a snack...we usually don't keep his face looking this messy!!

Jack growing up!

Jack and I have really enjoyed our summer together and these are going to be the final shots of the summer. He is finally trying to feed himself with a spoon and fork which is challenging but fun to watch! Also, we are starting to get real words from him like ball and dog. He is a few months behind on the speaking because of all his ear infections, but he is catching up slowly but surely. I have learned this summer that Jack loves to be outdoors and wet or indoors and wet. He loves water!!!

He loves to splash in the bathtub!!

Still fascinated by bubbles! As you can also see, his knee is scratched up and his head is bruised. He loves to fall!

Our cutie!!

These shots were taken when I was watering the flowers outside. Where the sprinkler attaches to the house it has a lot of spray coming out of it. When I found Jack he was standing in the spray getting soaked and loving every minute! He looked so cute I had to take some shots!

He now has a full set of teeth on the bottom!!

Swimming!!

Jack loves the water!! I guess my taking him in the pool last summer helped out b/c he loves to be in the water and put his face down. If I would let him I think he would sit under water!

Jack decided that he was definitely going to wear his sunglasses under the Texas sun. These pictures are at my Dad's house.

His hat that is sized for children 2-4 b/c his head is so big!!

Hangin' out in his floaty that my step-mom bought for him!!

Jack and his Aunt Andrea!

This is Jack's first day at Wilson Pool which is right down the street. As you can see, he didn't want to wear his sunglasses his just wanted to go blind from the sun.

Jack about to fall over in the water and JR just standing there!!

Jack at the Park!

We went to a park in Ft. Smith when the weather turned nice!! Jack loved crawling all over the jungle gym and swinging.

This picture is a little blurry but it is still a good shot of the little guy! He is wearing JR's hat at almost the smallest setting b/c his head is definitely Hinkson!!

I have been busy and haven't posted any pictures in a while so I went ahead and posted a lot to get caught up. You can see Jack's eye is doing well and his eye is getting stronger everyday. Also, Jack is officially walking now. He can walk up to 7 to 10 steps without assistance and he can go one direction and then turn around without any help. Of course, this means no rest for the weary. Jack doesn't stop moving until we hold him down to go to sleep. He is a lot of fun now and totally acts like a boy in the sense that he loves to knock things over and get his hands dirty. Enjoy the new pics!

Jack's first birthday party!

The birthday boy himself!! He decided to chew on some cardboard while he waited for the party to start. His official birthday is this Wednesday, but we celebrated with family in Tulsa this past weekend.

The big cake for everyone to eat. Of course, JR picked out the design

Jack's personal cake! There are two cupcakes under all that icing!

Jack and I!

Jack opening his presents! He did well and pulled out all of the tissue paper from each present.

The fam!!

Me, Jack and my Grandma. I look kind of bright eyed...who knows.

All the family that came!!

Jack's cake afterward. It only looks like this because we smashed his hand into it. Oh well, maybe next year!!
