First but probably not the last trip to the ER.
Friday night Jack was taking a bath and getting ready for bed. He hates to get out of the bathtub so I decided to let the water drain and once it was done he would know that it was time to get out. The water was at less than an inch and I stepped literally a foot away from the tub and the dude falls and hits his face on the side of the tub. At first he grabbed his mouth and I thought he might have busted some teeth out but then I saw the gash above his right eye. He realized it was there also and it started gushing blood. I grabbed a towel and pulled him out while applying pressure and screaming for JR to help. We threw a diaper on him and rushed him to the ER. We got to the hospital around 8:45pm and they didn't get us back to a room until 11:00pm. They put this numbing stuff on gauze and taped it to the cut every fifteen minutes and decided to sew him up at 11:35pm. Poor guy finally fell asleep though at 11:30pm and was rudely awoken by the start of his stitches. Personally it was terrible to watch because I don't think he was numbed enough. I didn't watch up close I sat against the wall and I held him right after to calm him down, which was not easy. He was a trooper through the whole thing and of course acts as if nothing has happened. He will get his stitches removed on Thursday and now will have a scar to match his other eye.

Jack growing up!
Jack and I have really enjoyed our summer together and these are going to be the final shots of the summer. He is finally trying to feed himself with a spoon and fork which is challenging but fun to watch! Also, we are starting to get real words from him like ball and dog. He is a few months behind on the speaking because of all his ear infections, but he is catching up slowly but surely. I have learned this summer that Jack loves to be outdoors and wet or indoors and wet. He loves water!!!
He loves to splash in the bathtub!!

Still fascinated by bubbles! As you can also see, his knee is scratched up and his head is bruised. He loves to fall!

Our cutie!!

These shots were taken when I was watering the flowers outside. Where the sprinkler attaches to the house it has a lot of spray coming out of it. When I found Jack he was standing in the spray getting soaked and loving every minute! He looked so cute I had to take some shots!

He now has a full set of teeth on the bottom!!

Swimming!!
Jack loves the water!! I guess my taking him in the pool last summer helped out b/c he loves to be in the water and put his face down. If I would let him I think he would sit under water!
Jack decided that he was definitely going to wear his sunglasses under the Texas sun. These pictures are at my Dad's house.

His hat that is sized for children 2-4 b/c his head is so big!!

Hangin' out in his floaty that my step-mom bought for him!!

I have been busy and haven't posted any pictures in a while so I went ahead and posted a lot to get caught up. You can see Jack's eye is doing well and his eye is getting stronger everyday. Also, Jack is officially walking now. He can walk up to 7 to 10 steps without assistance and he can go one direction and then turn around without any help. Of course, this means no rest for the weary. Jack doesn't stop moving until we hold him down to go to sleep. He is a lot of fun now and totally acts like a boy in the sense that he loves to knock things over and get his hands dirty. Enjoy the new pics!
Jack's first birthday party!
The birthday boy himself!! He decided to chew on some cardboard while he waited for the party to start. His official birthday is this Wednesday, but we celebrated with family in Tulsa this past weekend.

The big cake for everyone to eat. Of course, JR picked out the design

Jack's personal cake! There are two cupcakes under all that icing!

Jack and I!

Jack opening his presents! He did well and pulled out all of the tissue paper from each present.

The fam!!

Me, Jack and my Grandma. I look kind of bright eyed...who knows.

All the family that came!!

Jack's cake afterward. It only looks like this because we smashed his hand into it. Oh well, maybe next year!!

BATH TIME!!!
Jack absolutely loves taking a bath. He hates when he has to get out and get dressed but he could play in the tub for hours if we would let him.
Here is a good teeth shot! He has four on top, two on bottom and now he is getting in a molar on each side!

We love this pic because Jack looks so determined to find his next toy.

WALKING AROUND!
Jack loves to walk around the perimeter of the kitchen. He is now walking about 7 to 10 steps on his own! He is always on the move now.
