Baby #2

Well, I'm going to try again to keep this up. I feel bad that I did pretty well with it during Jack's childhood and I would like Nolan to have the same thing when he grows up. I'm not promising a ton of posts but hopefully something worth while!

The first thing I'm going to start with are all the belly shots I took during my second pregnancy. I wish I would have done this with Jack because all I have from his pregnancy are a bunch of random shots and I don't know how far along I am in any of them. So, here we go....

23 weeks!

27 weeks!

29 weeks!

30 weeks!

33 weeks!

34 weeks!

38 weeks and having to conduct on this day! I called this my Johnny Cash outfit.

38 weeks as well! Jack took this picture which explains its great angle! Turns out this was the last week I took pictures. Oh well...you get the idea...I was huge!

Caught up....for now!

After some prodding from friends I decided to update the blog. I tried to go in chronological order on the posts. Enjoy and I'll try not to wait 3 more months before the next entry!

Jack's 4th Birthday!

The cake. He was excited because you can actually play with the figurines on the cake!

Grandma's 80th Birthday party!

My grandma had a small party to celebrate her 80th birthday! We all went to Miami, OK and took her out to lunch and then went to the church to have cake and punch! She was thrilled to see so many people and had a great time!

The great-grandkids!

My grandma's cake with all the names that people call her, including her grandkids.

more Chicago pics!

Me doing the self portrait at the baseball game. As you can tell, we were almost at the very top.

Moody!! It was great seeing a friendly face.

This was on the glass deck on top of the now Willis Tower, formerly the Sears tower. It is definitely a little breath taking stepping out on the glass and hoping it holds!

A landmark known as "The bean". We took our group picture here and when you take a picture you can see the entire Chicago skyline in the bean. Pretty cool. These are my three senior percussionists that are about to graduate. I will miss these girls!

The front of the museum.

Chicago!

The Alma HS band took our spring trip to Chicago this year and it was a blast! I have been to Chicago a couple of times already but one time I was 7 months pregnant and the other it was the dead of winter. This time it was a beautiful 70 degrees and sunny, which the Chicagoans said was not normal. We were able to see many things I have never seen in Chicago which included the Shedd Aquarium, the Museum of Natural History, and a Chicago White Sox Game!

Also, the band did play in a competition while in Chicago and who happened to be there but Todd Moody! It was great to see him and catch up. I hadn't seen him since he graduated in '99 but it was just like old times.

Some museum pics!

The cool dinosaur!

Had to get a pic of the Razorback!

The view from inside looking out.

I will post more pics later. Right now it is only doing one pic at a time, which will take me all night.

Starting over...again!

Alright, my new year resolution is to actually blog more this year. Hopefully, big things are going to happen for the Hinksons in 2011 and I would like a reminder of all that happens. Enjoy!

I got this idea from a friend of ours, Carolyn.

Jack's Top Ten:
1. He absolutely loves everything Razorbacks, be it football, basketball, the actual picture of a razorback, and of course the BAND!!

2. He loves to tackle. We don't know where he picked this up but he will tackle you, stuffed animals, or his figurines for hours on end and love every minute of it!!

3. He likes to tell me he pooped/peed in the potty just so I will give him a big hug!

4. He has to always, and I do mean always be wearing his hat, glasses, and shoes!

5. His shoes cannot get wet!

6. He must sleep with teddy, spiderman, and didi(blanket).

7. He loves to play army men and kill anyone...his guys, your guys, the mountain, anything.

8. He likes to tell Sandy what to do!

9. He loves to sing his ABC's even if they are not all correct!

10. He knows all the movements and some of the melodies to all of the popular band tunes, "horns up" for Sempre Fi, hog call, fight song, NFL, and the 'Hey Song'.

I was feeling especially lucky to be spending time with my little guy tonight and I thought I would include this into the blog.
My Top Ten:

1. I love that he runs up to see JR or I and gives us a huge hug!

2. I love that he still likes for me to hold him and cuddle sometimes.

3. I love how he will say a bunch of jibberish and then crack up laughing like it was the funniest thing in the world.

4. I love listening to him sing the ABC's and try to get them right!

5. I love that he is potty trained early and really tries hard at going to the potty!

6. I love the fact that he is a funny guy with a great personality starting to emerge!

7. We both love that he absolutely loves the Razorbacks, especially the band!! His destiny is determined!!

8. I love that he has an outgoing spirit and will warm right up to band kids and dance with them or try to conduct them.

9. I love that he is becoming so independent even though he still needs us when he gets and owieee!!

10. I love that he is so smart and continues to amaze us with what he knows!! He is talking more everyday and his vocabulary is getting stronger!!

Jack these days!!

Well Jack has finally turned two and half and JR and I still can't believe that he is that old. He is such a fun kid to be around!! I really enjoy all of the time that I get to spend with him and it makes going to work that much harder this year. One thing is for sure, this kid loves to make people laugh. He will do something or say something that will make us laugh and he will ask "funny"? He is talking up a storm and can say anyword that you ask him too, even the words you don't want him to say...thanks to JR!! He is a physical boy and loves to tackle or just climb all over you. He still won't eat enough to keep a bird alive but somehow he manages. His favorite foods are spaghetti, chicken nuggets, noodles, rice, and fruit snacks. We have been working on potty training the last week and it has been going great!!! We will try to keep the blog updated a little better from now on, but I am not promising anything!
